Was born in a family of usual workers in the Kostroma region. Later his family has moved to Balakovo of the Saratov region where Vladimir has spent his youth. Since childhood his idol was his older brother who drew well and has interested Vladimir in painting. As Vladimir recollects: «I have grown with a pencil and a brush in my hand, with constant desire to draw and I’m grateful to parents that they have supported my interest.» In 1978 he was called on the involuntary service to Sevastopol. Served as the artist.

In the army Vladimir makes decision to enter the Moscow State Institute of Culture, the Branch of Decorative Design, Faculty of the Fine Arts.

During the service he has continued working as the naval designer. Vladimir has headed the movement of free artists in Sevastopol. He became one of founders of the society of artists "Palette", and also has founded the artists’ public organisation «Sevastopol Guild of Artists».

Vladimir defines the whole direction in modern painting. His artworks can be characterized as very emotional and vivid, able to depict the artist’s mood. The Sevastopol small streets, bays and boats are the main characters of artist’s works. All of them create an image of “ The Sevastopol Venice”. Vladimir travels all over the Crimea. His nature in all seasons and, certainly, the sea with rough coastal stones and salty splashes of surf can really inspire. Fishermen at their launches, sea surf, beauty of Crimea attracts the artist and forces to take up the brush.

Separate big theme for Vladimir is the history of Sevastopol before and after the first Defence, history of Sailing Fleet. He works with historical archival materials, travels to historical places in Sevastopol. On the basis of facts and vision of material and perception from height of today the author has created and continues to work over the big cycle of works on these subjects.

Works of the artist are in private collections and official establishments of the CIS countries, in the USA and Europe.


Artworks are on permanent exhibition in the gallery "Globus".
