Yuriy was born on September, 3, 1953 in Port Arthur (now Lushun Port, China)
- 1970-1974 – study at the Kiev Art and Industry College, Faculty of Design
- 1979-1985 Kiev State Art Institute (NAFAA)
- 1975-1996 worked at the Art Fund
- Since 1987 member of the National Union of artists of Ukraine
- Yuriy Shevchenko is well-known Ukrainian artist who mainly works in such styles as symbolism and hyperrealism.
He is an author of unique project «ХХ century. Archives» which numbers more than 30 artworks.
Since 1985 he has participated in all-Union, republican and international exhibitions.
His personal expositions and projects were presented in Ukraine, Russia, France, Spain, Hungary, Germany.
In 2007 he attended The Cite Internationale des Arts, Paris, France.
