Paul Shumov was born in October 6, 1964 in Yalta – a small cozy town on the Crimean Black Sea coast, in the family of artists. Since his early childhood he together with his father Vasiliy Shumov, went to make sketches in his native town. In 1978, after finishing F. Vasilyev art school in Yalta, he went to St. Petersburg to study. In 1982 he graduated with honors from the art school at the Academy of Fine Arts named after I.Repin in St. Petersburg.
Now Paul lives and works in Yalta as a painter and graphic artist. The subjects of his works are landscape and portrait. In his numerous journeys Paul works at his sketches, the later being transformed into large canvases in his artist studio. Art exhibitions took place in Ukraine, Russia, Poland, Great Britain, Belgium, Germany and Cyprus. Paul Shumov’s works can be found in the Lvov Picture Gallery, in the Picture Gallery of Livadia Palace in Yalta and numerous private collections of the world.
