Alexander Kalantayev was born on the 29-th of February 1968 in Dneprodzerzhinsk, Ukraine.
He works as a painter-restorer in St. Petersburg, Russia.
Kalantayev is engaged in military history, journalism and writes a book dedicated to the famous warship and uneasy of withstand of Royal Navy of Great Britain, the Russian Navy and later on the German one.
He has been carried away with the painting for more than 10 years.
The painter has wide bibliographical materials which give a possibility to represents nautical battle scenes from Napoleon wars up to the “Cold War”.
The majority of materials represented on given disk, was ordered in 2006-2007 by the Officer club attached to the Central Navy Museum in St. Petersburg.
Now the painter works at the picture series devoted to convoy battles in the Northern Atlantic Ocean during World War II and depict epic withstand of three empires in the course of Eastern (Crimean) campaign of 1853-1856.
